True story.....
I was sitting at a baseball game speaking to a dear friend of mine about her son. Since I had spent 20 years deeply involved in HS baseball, player development and recruiting local talent, I asked her how the recruiting process was going for her son. I was shocked when she said she had just paid a recruiting service $2000 to promote her son who as a senior left handed pitcher at O Connor HS. I asked her how they plan to promote him, so she pulled up her phone and showed me the video work they sent of her son throwing a bull pen at a local high school. The quality was so poor, the angles were bad, there was no professionalism at all in the footage and the camera quality was terrible. My feelings went from disbelief to a landslide of anger that filled my mind. This was my friend and I was convinced she had just been robbed but I didn't have the guts to tell her how I felt about a decision she had just made. Afterall, she was only doing what a good supportive parent would do for their mature, disciplined and talented son.
I told her I would shoot his recruiting video and put together a more full representation of all the work he has done so far. I told her I would get on the phone, email and promote him to my contacts to help get him the best possible offer for a LHP. I was furious and made a decision in my heart I would not let that happen to anyone who I knew that needed help getting their son or daughter recruited in to the next level." Here's a single mother being cheated out of $2000 for an incredibly poor service. Within a week we had completed his recruiting video, built his profile and started contacting D1, D2 recruiting coordinators in Texas and beyond.
By the grace of God, we were able to secure him a healthy scholarship offer from Baylor University and help the mother through the entire process. Phone call after phone call, email after email we moved through the process slowly and thoroughly. I learned alot in the process and promised myself I would do my God given best to help other young men promote their best work to colleges that best fit their athletic/academic abilities. We reached the 300th singed athlete with the signing of Esai Puente (Fall 2023) to Our Lady of the Lake University NAIA here in San Antonio, Texas. Our network of college coaches has deepened and widened since we started and the awareness of our videos and it's methodology is respected by the college baseball community throughout the country. We love what we do and are quick to give God the Glory for any and all our success.
Is your athlete the next one we celebrate committing to their college or university?
Let's goooooooo!
